IT Companies in the Healthcare and Digital health sectors: A Company Connecting Infographic

This week at Company Connecting we are focusing on Digital Health, an emerging discipline which involves the use of IT and communication technology to improve the lives of patients and the effectiveness of various treatments by health practitioners. This infographic provides a summary of the type of information we hold in Company Connecting. IT companies working in healthcare tend to be larger than average: 52% have more than 20 employees. Our CC average is 38% so these companies are substantially larger. Out of the 230 IT companies on our database providing services to the healthcare sector, we have categorised 55 as working in areas of 'digital health'. It is difficult to define ‘digital health’ and we would assume that the majority of the companies are ‘digital health’ in some shape or other. As well as healthcare the top three sectors for these companies are: Financial Services, Government and Public Sector – so all ‘big’ sectors with large corporations and organisations. The Top focus areas are: Healthcare, Patient Information and Document Management and the top skills are Software Development, Mobile Applications and Project Management The top three cities are: Glasgow with 41 companies, Edinburgh with 32 and Cambridge with 28.
