Venturefest Scotland 2017: Grow a Business through Innovation

Next month Company Connecting has the great opportunity to attend Venturefest Scotland 2017: an annual Glasgow event that helps growing, early-stage companies and ambitious entrepreneurs with the process of innovating. Bringing together entrepreneurs, innovators, business owners and investors, it should be a valuable experience for us and anyone attending – and will include a contribution from Company Connecting’s founder and director, Janice Grant-Shaw.

Venturefest Network events are going on all over the UK in 2017. Ten regional events over the course of the year are each providing a platform for showcasing strengths of the local economies. Venturefest Scotland will give growing Scottish companies and entrepreneurs the chance to find the tools, advice, funding and contacts needed to take the next step.

Along with Martin Halvey of Strathclyde university, Company Connecting’s own Janice Grant-Shaw will be participating in a ‘Collaboration for Growth’ workshop. An entrepreneur herself, Janice has always worked in IT and tech, and even before founding Company Connecting she’d been heavily involved in collaboration between businesses – primarily entrepreneurs and SMEs. Entrepreneurs working in IT / tech will be especially interested in this part of the event, but for any entrepreneurs who want to grow a business there will be much to be learned from the workshop. She and Martin will be speaking about their collaboration on the original Proof of Concept for Company Connecting, and the benefits of the Innovation Voucher scheme for entrepreneurs that led to it.

Venturefest Scotland takes place on Wednesday 20th September 2017 at the Glasgow Science Centre.

It kicks off at 12 noon with a welcome and introduction, and as well as Janice and Martin’s ‘Collaboration for Growth’ workshop, the rest of the event will comprise a deep look at how small firms can assess the value of opportunities associated with digital technology, followed by a Q&A session.

It’s set to be a fantastic event for Scottish SMEs and entrepreneurs to get information and ideas on how to take their business forward. The best way of getting ideas is to listen to other people in a similar position, so the opportunities at Venturefest should go a long way towards helping many aspiring Scottish entrepreneurs and business owners.

We hope to see you there!
