Spotlight on Edinburgh: Big Data For Humans

As many of you will already know Company Connecting has been focusing on the Edinburgh Tech and IT community with a range of articles and infographics highlighting some of the fantastic work going on in the city. We’ve already spoken to Kendra Byers of StartEdin, as well as Dr Neil Urquhart of Edinburgh Napier University.

This week we continue on with our Edinburgh theme, and first up is Big Data For Humans. Big Data For Humans was set up by Peter Ellen who founded music store, Fopp before selling it to HMV plc, as well as Maxymiser Inc  which he sold to Oracle, and Steven Rose, formerly of Maxymiser, and Inidcia.

Big Data For Humans are a software as a service software provider geared towards the retail and travel industry around the world, with an aim to help them understand who their customers are to achieve higher profits. Their clients include Selfridges,Tesco and AirAsia, and with recent features by the Times and other major press outlets, big things can be expected from this big data company!
