Graduate Series: An Interview with David Starkey

Continuing with Company Connecting's ongoing Graduate Series, we sat down with David Starkey, a 24 year old PhD candidate at the University of St Andrews. David studies Physics and is part of a study which searches for active galaxies. David is involved in the statistical side of astronomy, looking at the amount of photon's received from individual galaxies over time and using this data to produce what is called a 'light curve'.

The article makes for truly fascinating reading, especially when combined with our previous Graduate article on PhD student Jamie Ferguson, who looks at understanding stars through data and sonification processes. Both David and Jamie's articles give a glimpse at some of the great innovation going on within Scotland's Universities towards space. Read the full interview below:
