Today's nutshell is Kenny Steele, Director of Pinnacle Visualisation. Pinnacle Visualisation is an innovative software development house specialising in Augmented and Virtual Reality solutions.
Main Focus of the Business
We develop bespoke software. We are also in the virtual and augmented reality space.
What do you do now?
My role is business development and I get word out about what we do. I talk to people and find out what they need. You never know where a conversation can lead.
What was your very first job?
My first job was working in the stores at Kvaerner FFSL when I was 15 years old. It was great fun and a bit of an eye opener in life and people.
How did you get into IT?
I got into software because my 5th year results were less than perfect, due to my sporting commitments with hockey. In 6th year I knuckled down, got good results and via clearing I ended up doing Computer Science at RGU.
Interesting fact about You?
In my final year at university I was involved in the European Cup Winners Cup in Eindhoven playing hockey with the Gordonians. While everyone else was playing cards, and relaxing, I had to write my final report for my degree. It obviously wasn’t quite up to scratch and I missed getting a first. However, the basis of my project was the same idea as Wagamamma’s with much cruder technology.
Favourite Place?
On the golf course at Naples Florida where the sun shines and I can chill out – with the family.
Dream Car?
Don’t really have a dream car – but would like a go in a Formula One car.
Who would you most like to meet and why?
I think Elvis is pretty cool – wherever he is now.
Current Aspirations for the business
Keep busy. Keep doing what we are doing, keep growing, keep picking up young keen start ups and grow with them whilst developing our own products. Keep having fun, enjoy what we do. Get some really juicy, meaty augmented reality projects on the go.
