A look at Conversational AI with Angus Addlesee: Making a Difference

So what is conversational AI?

We talk to Angus Addlesee about the work he is doing for his PhD in Conversational AI and its relation to healthcare. Siri, Alexa, Cortana and Google Assistant are all conversational aids as are programs like chatbots. Converstional AI is any software that tries to simulate human conversation.

The focus of Angus's PhD is how to make it easier to have a 'conversation' with the 'speech'  of AI. The technology can be used to help the elderly or those with arthritis and various other conditions. This is particularly relevant to our aging population. He is funded by WallScope and The Data Lab. We previously interviewed Angus over two years ago when he was studying his MSc in artificial intelligence.
